When the gradient orca made its debut in 2001, the Canucks were coming after their first playoff appearance in five years. The 2001.02 campaign marked a shift in Canucks hockey, and the start of a new era - and the gradient orca was indicative of that change. The Sedins laid the foundation of their historic careers, and the prolific West Coast Express was just taking off. Fast forward to today, and the Canucks find themselves in a very similar position of having returned to the playoffs for the first time in five years, led once again by a new era of Canucks hockey and its young stars. This remixed adidas jersey represents the current turning point. It's a visual transition, from green to blue, from one era of Canucks hockey to the next, and the start of a young emerging team with an incredibly bright future. These jerseys hit the ice in 2021.
